1990 Corrado 1.8 G60

Now that i have bought my G60 engine (finally ) and done a lot of research about tuning, i would like to listen to other G60 owners opinions and suggestions about modifying the G60 engine.
The car is to be used in the street (not track etc) and i'm after 250bhp but reliable! Already has a smaller charger pulley (68mm), ecu chip and bypass valve and the previous owner told me the car made about 200bhp. Oh, and also the g-lader has been rebuilted to standard spec 1000 miles ago.

So, what do u guys suggest?
Cheers

I was thinking more of bolt-on parts for my new G60 engine at the first stage...Because i just bought the engine i don't really want to start porting and polishing the internals So, flowing and porting the g-lader is out of the question, as also the head rebuilt (as the engine is in very good condition)
So, we have so far:
-camshaft
-chip
-bigger intercooler
-exhaust system and 4-2-1 manifold
Anything else?

Hi mate, are you not a member on www.the-corrado.net ??

Plenty of info on there for you !!

I'd without doubt suggest you get a Golf G60 or Golf Rallye Front Mount Intercooler, and probably a larger water radiator and an oil cooler as you live in a hotter climate, best to keep things cool before you start modding too much if you want it to be reliable
Are you wanting to run air conitioning still ?

Wow, thought the oe Corrado G60 intercooler was rather bigger than the Golf G60 one...???
As for the oil cooler is in my plans
No air-conditioning in this car mate (even if is's really hot at Cyprus)

The Golf G60 IC that runs air con is small and top mounted, but the ones without air con are much bigger ! The Rallye one has a larger inlet, same size as the charger outlet.
If you can't get one yet, get an RSR outlet for your charger, the standard one always leaks a bit.
With the RSR, an SNS chip and 68mm pulley and cams you'll be close to 200bhp.

Have a look at www.g-werks.co.uk

I remember reading something about the induction kits on the vortex. I don't recall, but the concensus was that they were good for show, but not such a great investment for horsepower.
