Gotta nag here...
If it's random, then what's the point of having it in the first place? Maybe you should build something that weekly monitors the points given to each Corrado and choose the one that scores the highest? I guess that makes a "Corrado of the Week" nomination worthwhile.

the problem is that there are just a few who regularly give and get points so this way you won't get a whole lot of different Corrado's of the week, when it's randomly chosen, everyone get's a chance to be the C of the Week.

Still, you might get a "Corrado of the Week" which isn't a Corrado (as some people tend to use the DB for other models as well).
And besides that, "Corrado of the Week" (or month if you don't get enough votes) should be something to be proud of, something you can brag about. If it's just a randomizer, it actually isn't anything to be proud of...

before we put the Corrado online, we check if the Corrado of the week is infact a corrado, so it is always monitored, also i think that it doesn't really matter if it's random or chosen, i think it's always a proud thing to be the C of the week

I do think "random" is a good choice...But i also understand Ronald's argument...
The feeling/proudness you get when your C is choice of the week by votes wil be higher then when its the choice of a computer... When you decide by votes,you have a higher risk that the same group of C's keep repeating themselves as winner... Thats the reason i choose for random...BUT...MAYBE...I'ts an idee to let the computer choose 3 or more C's out off the Database...so we can vote on those cars every wk...And then the winners of the wk against each other for that months winner...?
Ad the end of the year you can choose a winner of the year (vote on the winners off the months)...Then you can really be proud off something... This is just an idee...you can change/play it how you like...It's your database...But when you play it a little bit like this...The computer choose's...and we vote...!! Perfect...hahaha...
I find it a good idee...C off the wk/mnth...Maybe you shut start a poll of somekint,because there are a lot of "Databaser's"
Maybe you reconzider my idee...It's just an idee
to make the most people happy...
How more idee's the better,you can still change what you want...So everyone...give your idee's....

I think daredevil has a point.It may take years and years for some corrados to be on the corrado of the week.You may even increase the competitors to 5 or even 10.For instance 10 of 2.0 16v on the database,the week after 10 of 1.8 16valves and so on.The winners of each motor types will be chosen,than they can race in between them for a Grand Winner.Greetz

I think my idea is not so much work,and it is i think a lot more fun for the other data-basers...
An example : You let the computer run a program every wk and let hem choose 5 random Corrado's,and you make a poll-topic on your forum.Than we can vote our selves...It is a lot funner for the rest of us i think,and as ertanoy also says you have more chance to be pikt out by the computer,and when you win the votes it is something to be proud off,because it is a sort off little competition...
The only work you have more,is that you have to make a poll,you also increase your visitors i think...Because everyone want to see the contestants and vote on them...

Last week my corrado was the c of the week and i must say, it felt fantastic! Almost like my car was in a magazine! Only thing I would add to this feature is to send the owner of the c of the week an email because I only found out at the end of the week! Thanks guys and keep up the good work...
