I built the Car for Autocrossing and I've been doing pretty well!! I placed 2nd in 3 events last year in STS class. The 4th event I got stomped, but the middle 5 cars (counting me) were all w/in 1 second. The last couple events I placed 2nd.
This year I've placed 1st in class (STX now w/ the LSD) at each of my 6 events so far and scored first in PAX time (indexed to equalize all classes) at one event!
UPDATE: I won STX for the season AND I won overall PAX for the season in my region!!!! I'm hella psyched to beat all kinds of cars w/ my 13 year old Rado! My favorite part is still the looks I get when I roll into an event... I love the comments "What is that?!" and "Why are you racing that?!" 8-)
A few years ago I rebuilt the head when I did the HG and timing chain and I'm constantly doing maintenance... as you all know. I'll never sell my car and can't wait 'till it's actually worth something! ;)
Wishlist : I still hope have an exhaust set-up soon, but the racing, family, and house all hurt the pocket book! I replaced one axle since the outer CV was going and then the next week DESTROYED the inner CV on the driver's side! Since I actually did my LSD, cryo gears, and new synchros last winter, I decided to upgrade my axles to Raxles to hopefully handle the stress. However, I blew 2 axles (same side) at a later event and found I had some other issues!! All better now! And RAXLES rox!! I still hope to supercharge it w/ a V-2 in a couple years, but I'm quite happy with it the way it is!
